COMPETING FOR OUTSTANDING TEEN​

The Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Organization hosts a national competition intended to encourage and reward the talent, communication skills, community service, and academic achievement of girls between 13 and 18 years of age.

To become Miss America’s Outstanding Teen, a contestant must first compete to represent her state, a process requiring personal commitment, hard work and talent. To compete in the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen program, you need commitment, perseverance, talent and ambition.

To compete in the Teen Program you must:

  • Must be at least thirteen (13) years on the first day of the State Competition in which she competes.

  • Must be no older than eighteen (18) years of age as of December 31st in the calendar year of the State Competition in which she could compete.

  • For the avoidance of doubt, Candidate cannot turn nineteen (19) years of age at any time during the calendar year in which she could compete at the State MAOTeen Competition (January 1st through December 31st).

  • Be a United States citizen.

  • Residency
    Must fulfill one of the following:

    1. Must reside in the local area of competition

    2. Be enrolled in and physically attending classes on a full-time basis at an accredited public or private school, or home schooled within the local area of competition. 

  • Meet character criteria as set forth by the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Organization.

  • Be in reasonably good health to meet the job requirements.

  • Be able to meet the time commitment and responsibilities as set forth by the local program in which you compete.

  • Must not be eligible to compete in the Miss America Competition.

  • Candidates must meet all additional requirements pursuant to the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen State and Local Application & Agreement: Full Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Program Requirements
