About
MEET EMILY

Emily Hamilton was crowned Miss Washington’s Teen on June 24, 2023. In addition to winning the crown and a $7500 scholarship, Emily also won the preliminary evening gown competition and  was a Top 5 Finalist for the Teens in Action Award.  She will continue on to compete for Miss America's Teen in January 2024.

Emily is a 17-year-old who is entering her senior year at Mount Si High School in Snoqualmie, Washington. She is a varsity sideline cheerleader who enjoys cheering on her favorite team, the Mount Si Wildcats. When not cheering, Emily is a student at the Village Theatre Institute’s Performing Arts School in Issaquah. Singing since the age of three, Emily attained her first professional stage role when she portrayed “Skater” and was the understudy for the “Little Girl” in the 5th Avenue Theatre’s award-winning production of the Broadway Musical “Ragtime.” Emily can also be seen in the internationally-released movie “Language Arts.” She has won many regional and national talent competitions and has modeled for both Macy’s and Zulily.

Emily’s Community Service Initiative is focused on her 10 years of volunteer service with Homeless Encampment Tent City 4, a clean and sober homeless encampment located on the Eastside of King County. Additionally, Emily completed international service trips to Peru, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. She also recently embarked on a 5-country international cultural study in Germany, Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic and Austria. As part of that trip, Emily is touring many World War II historical sites including the Auschwitz Concentration Camp.

As someone who is neurodivergent, (Emily has three learning disabilities including ADHD, High Functioning Autism and Social Communication Disorder), she hopes to grow the Miss America program to include more neurodivergent participants proving that, even though they often have to work 10x harder than the neurotypical, she is proof that they can achieve success.
